Hapur admin plans eco park worth 600 cr to boost tourism
Meerut: Hapur district tourism department has planned to develop an eco-park on the bank of river Ganga in Brijghat at Delhi-Lucknow highway.The project will be developed across nearly 700 bigha land for around Rs 600 crore. The plan includes developing resorts, industries, a dolphin-watching centre, boating facilities, a space for religious events, guest houses, etc. Ganga ghats will also be revamped with modern facilities. Recently, in a meeting organised by officials at collectorate premises, entrepreneurs from Ghaziabad and nearby areas were proposed to invest in the banks of Ganga. “Several proposals were received in the past for development of Brijghat area. Most of the obstacles for the project have been removed now and the groundwork for this project will start soon. Being close to NCR and having expressways around will boost tourism and benefit the industrial sector here,” said deputy commissioner, Industries, Shailendra Singh.
